I honestly can’t think of a good reason for not posting in 2017, because there really isn’t one. So, I’m sorry. Deadly sorry. I probably spent too much time on Instagram, which is so addicting I’ve renamed it “Addictionagram.” Can anyone relate?

Hopefully, these pictures and words will make up for my absence. And if not, well, onward to 2018!

Liberty Island

While traveling for work in New Jersey, I made two important stops: 1) visiting my cousins, and 2) visiting Liberty Island. We had a regular ol’ family fun day taking a trip into New York City to see Ms. Liberty.

Nearby, in Jersey City, there’s a wonderful tribute: the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial. So much heart went into this memorial, in remembrance of the 729 lives lost from New Jersey that day. It’s really worth spending time there.

The Orlando Eye

Back in my home state of Florida, I finally made it to see the Orlando Eye. A little sun—and then not-so-much sun—made for an interesting few hours of shooting. What do you think? I personally love the gears. Check out my Instagram page for some macro close-ups.

Sadly, I didn’t get to touch the sky on this trip. But that’s incentive for a trip back to hitch a ride on car #23…or lucky car #24?

West Quoddy and Bass Harbor

Some work travel also took me to Maine and New Hampshire, and there’s no better way to spend a little free time than visiting old lighthouses—especially if you’re lighthouse-aholic like me.

I was hit with every kind of weather you could imagine: blaring sun, pelting rain, and creepy, creeping fog. I had to work with what Mother Nature rolled out, and that’s what made this shoot so much fun.

As you can see, it was a perfect day for a shoot at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine. And a less-than-stellar environment at Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse in Bass Harbor, Maine.

2017 saw a lot of travels, lugging camera bags through airports, and on-the-fly shots. What will 2018 bring? To be continued…
